What it means
Every game gets exactly one date, inside its round, on a weekday the calendar allows, matching its slot's weekday.
Why it exists
A sanity check that the date stageOne of five steps that build the fixture: opponents, rounds, dates, home ground and venue, TV slot.Read more in the glossary finished its job and did not leave a game dateless or double-dated.
For example
A Round 5 game cannot be dated in Round 6's week, and a game in a Saturday slot cannot carry a Sunday date.
